Joy, you have said what Jeff and I and our children have been talking about! Couldn’t have said it any better! We are scared too! Confused by friends who are hypnotized by this man. How does spewing hate make anyone want to be a Christian? This makes my heart ache. Our family too we don’t look at things the same.

In reply to Carrie. Carrie, I understand your desire to focus on God versus the people who say they follow him. I agree. I think understanding how to determine what He requires is up for interpretation. I can find verses that I prefer, but I really think I would rather love people in the way I believe God has gifted me to do so, and view all people as being incredibly designed and deserving of respect. Prioritizing people above theology and laws are what I see represented by Christ in the Bible. And if you disagree, I can still respect your perspective. 🙂

There are definitely some things in God’s word that are hard to wrestle with. However, we’ll ultimately stand before God, not before the church. So it really doesn’t matter if we abide by what the church says or choose one based on what we believe about God. It only matters what God says. Even if we don’t like it. Isaiah 55:8.
